# Spring 2025 Graduates Present  Children's Media Capstone Research

Three students presented their capstone projects and will earn the Certificate in Children's Media this spring. They presented their projects on April 23, 2025 from 10:00am-11:30am in the Mind Lab, Annenberg Hall.

## Bringing Media Coverage of College Sports to Kids

**Jennifer Quagliariello** (MSP) has centered her project around finding new ways to bring the excitement of college sports to younger audiences. Inspired by the success of “NFL on Nickelodeon,” she explored how sports programming could be reimagined for kids. Her research highlights the potential for engaging, kid-friendly sports content and how it can play a role in building lifelong fans early.

**Lolade Kola-Adewuyi** (ADVTG), she has explored how children’s television can become more inclusive for Deaf and Hard of Hearing viewers. Her project evaluated the effectiveness of closed captions and subtitles for children ages 5–7, focusing on how these features support language development, foster emotional connection, and promote a sense of inclusion.

## Past Your Bedtime: Development of a Talk Show for Kids

Building on the idea of making media more engaging and accessible for children, **Rebecca Clark** (MSP) directed her research toward a genre not typically developed for younger audiences—a talk show. Her project, *Past Your Bedtime*, examines what a fun and educational talk show designed specifically for kids might look and sound like.
