Sherri Hope Culver and Thomas Jacobson (Interim Dean, School of Media and Communication) have published a paper in Comunicar, scientific journal of media education, titled “Media Literacy and Its Use as a Method to Encourage Civic Engagement“. The paper highlights three US programs in which media literacy education is a core component of their process for engaging youth in civic issues and dialogue; Powerful Voices for Kids, The Salzburg Academy, and Global Connections and Exchange Africa.
