Philadelphia Youth Media Collaborative Presents:
UNDERSTANDING COPYRIGHT & FAIR USE
Do you have questions or concerns about using copyrighted material in youth media work or in your own teaching?
Then come to WHYY on Friday, November 2, for UNDERSTANDING COPYRIGHT AND FAIR USE. This two-hour workshop will help you to answer the following questions:
1. What are copyright and fair use?
2. When can I use copyrighted material in my classroom?
3. When can my students use copyrighted material in their work?
4. How does copyright affect the sale or distribution of student work?
PYMC member David Cooper has been giving talks on copyright on fair use for two years to numerous academic and professional organizations. He will lead an extended discussion about this often confusing topic in a way that that makes dealing with copyright in your classroom not only possible, but an important component of your teaching practice.
When: Friday, November 2, 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Where: WHYY Hamilton Media Commons at 150 North 6th Street
This workshop is free and open to the public, but you must RSVP with Laura Deutch by Wednesday, October 31. Email
