The CMIL is a proud sponsor of UNESCO’s Global Media and Information Literacy Week.
The theme of this years Global MIL Week is “The New Digital Frontiers of Information: Media and Information Literacy for Public Interest Information”. It will explore the transformative effects of emerging technologies, like Generative Artificial Intelligence, along with the rise of a new generation of digital content creators, on the production and distribution of public-interest information, emphasizing both the opportunities and potential risks involved.
Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2024 will highlight the importance of keeping pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape while empowering users with the skills needed to identify, assess and engage with public-interest information online.
Since 2011, Global Media and Information Literacy Week has been commemorated annually from October 24th to 31st, bringing together stakeholders worldwide to exchange ideas and explore innovative approaches to advancing Media and Information Literacy for everyone.
