First time ever screening of Prix Jeunesse children’s TV festival in Philly
Join us at Temple University on October 18th for a screening from Prix Jeunesse, the world’s most prestigious and longest-running children’s and youth television festival!
Screenings are focused on preschool/elementary audiences, and primary/tween/teen audiences. The TV shows were part of the Prix Jeunesse international children’s television festival for 2024. This is the best of the best across the globe! Some of the shows are funny; some poignant, heart-warming, silly, scary, tackling everything from adolescent angst to preschool jitters to zombies to climate change and more. Between showings, we will discuss the shows and their impact on children and youth.
The event will be hosted by David Kleeman and Sherri Hope Culver.
David Kleeman has led the children’s media industry in developing sustainable, kid-friendly practices for more than 30 years. He began this work as president of the American Center for Children and Media and is now Senior VP of Global Trends for Dubit, a strategy/research consultancy and digital studio. David is also advisory board chair to PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, and on Boards of the National Association for Media Literacy Education and Children’s Media Association.
A note from Sherri:
I had the opportunity to attend the Prix Jeunesse Festival in Munich this May, and the exceptional production quality and high-caliber content made the experience incredibly valuable. If you can carve out the time from noon to 8 p.m., I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
Located at Temple University’s Gladfelter Hall in room 013. The screenings will begin at 12 p.m. and conclude at 7 p.m. You may attend the full screening, or any part of the day. However, you’re encouraged to attend the full day. It will be worth your time!
The event is free and open to all adults!
Advance registration is required. Sign up for the event here.
