Community Conversation

To help kick off Media Literacy Week, Poynter’s MediaWise is hosting a Community Conversation on the essential skills journalists and audiences need to adapt to changing information environments.


The conversation panelist will moderated by Neil Brown, President of Poynter and include:
- Ali Velshi, Host, “Velshi” and Chief Correspondent, MSNBC
- Ariel Taylor, Youth Media Manager, PhillyCAM
- Sherri Hope Culver, Director, Center for Media and Information Literacy at Temple University

This event is part of “Moments of Truth: An Exploration of Journalism’s Past, Present, and Future,” which is a new exhibit created by Poynter’s initiative. The exhibit debuts October 27th at the Free Library of Philadelphia and offers visitors the chance to explore:
- A historical timeline of major headlines and media shifts
- Interactive media literacy challenges to sharpen your news smarts
- Opportunities to reflect on your media journey
