Have you ever sat down to watch TV with a kid and, after telling yourself you’d only stay for a few minutes, you instead found yourself laughing and wanting to watch ‘til the end? Well, you’re not alone. Humor is an important part of children’s media. Learn how children’s media professionals blend humor into children’s content by joining the Children’s Media Association (CMA) for their “Comedy Through the Ages” event. The event will be held at Fordham University in New York City on October 28, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. This event is part of Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, a UNESCO-supported celebration of MIL worldwide. This CMA discussion of humor reflects the need for children’s media creators to consider the influence of media on their child audience.
